Saskatchewan is blessed with great hunting and fshing, and with a little luck you will get to see and Know Your Prey, The Fish and Game of Saskatchewan. With lots of record book and world record game taken every year and giant fish caught you can be sure of at least seeing or catching a true legend.  This province has a great hunting and fishing history and a great relationship with farmers and land owners for access to hunting and fishing on their land.  We do not have large tracts of hunt club or private access areas except Native Indian Reserves. Public hunting areas are common, where no permission is needed, but with permission almost every area in the province is accessible.  Yes there are high fence hunt areas but they are few and far between, Saskatchewan still believes in fair chase hunts in the game’s wild habitat.

However, we do have land owners who do not want people hunting on there lands. Sadly, these same land owners at one time allowed hunting and fishing.  What happened? Why Not Now, you ask? Well, biggest thing is the "SLOB, Non Country, City Hunters" who should not be hunting, out with a gun, who "Accidently" shoot a head of livestock.  Yep they shot a bull, cow, steer, horse and even farm dogs.  Some farmers now go to the lengths of putting blaze orange vests on their farm dogs. The second biggest reason is these same "Non Hunters" don’t respect the land owners right of no entry.  They see a big animal out in a field and the first gate they come to for that field is opened and out across they go, even if there is grain rows not yet picked up or a large pasture area.  Of course when they come back out, they do not take the 2 minutes to close the gate again. Yep, there were cattle in there and before anyone noticed the open gate, they escaped and were involved in a motor vehicle farm animal accident.

Please, use respect, ask the land owner for access and guess what from them constantly working or being out on their land they may even tell you about a big specimen or better spot you can not see from the main road, that they know about.
